This is a follow up to my post entitled A 40% Return on Investment In 1 Week?

Ok, this idea didn’t work and in hindsight I smell a rat.

For $20 Mr Taylor Glickman provided me with the name of a website which he advertised on, and told me of a particular product that consistently made him about 50% more money than the cost of the advertising.

He suggested advertising this Clickbank product: Survey Scout On this website: PrisonPlanet.com

The concept seemed sound and it was true that the website I was told about did have significant traffic. The Survey Scout course seemed like a typical get-rich-quick idea which I’m certain are very popular and I did get to see some screenshots of earnings from Taylor. H e claimed that he was making a minimum of $700 each time he advertised, and the 1-week advert would cost me $500.

I suspect now that his claims were either exaggerated, deliberately misleading or possibly even doctored on photoshop. My advert resulted in sales of about $300 - a net loss of $200 for the advert and a loss of $20 that I paid to Taylor for his information.

Whilst Taylor’s not blocked me online, he does not reply when I elicit a chat and I expect he knew what I wanted to speak with him about. My thoughts are that he’s somehow connected with PrisonPlanet and that he’s benefitted by more than $20 from our agreement.

It’s always a shame when an idea doesn’t work, however, it has at least opened up my mind to paying to advertise affiliate products. I do think that with more targetted marketing and a bit of my own research I could still do well from this idea.

There isn’t really anything I can do to reclaim my losses. I was hoping that Taylor would refund me the $20 I paid to him as a courtesy, but it’s time to write this off to experience.

Nevertheless, I’m pleased to have tried something I’ve not looked into before and I’ve learnt a little more about dealing with people privately whom I’ve not done business with before. On to the next opportunity … [tags] prison planet, taylor glickman, clickbank, paid advertising [/tags]
